During March I worked on a show with The Dukes Theatre’s young actors. Your Country Needs You (but I don’t need my country) was a piece about war, nationalism and the impact of western culture.
It feautred Incredible writing from Laurence Wilson, Eddie Robson and Daragh Carville and beautifully inventive physical direction from Louie Ingham. All in all, one of the most powerful pieces i’ve been lucky to work on. It was also fantastic to work on a project for, by and with young people that stands up alongside the quality and impact of ‘professional’ work.
Here are some sound design excerpts from the show.
The show also featured a live band consisting of incredible up and coming young Lancaster musicians. Plans are afoot to record some of the pieces that we created for the show….
